KidsGrow Environmental Education Program

KidsGrow is the Parks & People Foundation's after-school environmental education, reading enrichment and character education program. The program serves 2nd - 5th grade students in Baltimore City Public schools and uses curriculum developed by the Baltimore Ecosystem Study.

Since 1994, KidsGrow has introduced thousands of elementary school students to ecology and nature improving academic achievement through hands-on community service projects such as vacant lot restorations, tree plantings and stream clean-ups.

By engaging young people in the active study and exploration of their neighborhood environment, and providing academic and stewardship enrichment activities, KidsGrow is uniquely positioned to improve participants' chances for positive academic and life outcomes in the 21st Century and beyond.

KidsGrow is currently engaging young people at Franklin Square Elementary Middle School and William Paca Elementary School.
