Youth Opportunity Fund
About the Fund
The Parks & People Foundation in partnership with the Baltimore Interfaith Coalition has created the Youth Opportunity Fund to increase the number of positive activities for youth in Baltimore City, while connecting them with caring adults. The primary goal of the fund is to support small innovative organizations which develop virtues in young people through character building services. Funds are available for groups affiliated with a faith community (church, synagogue, mosque, etc.) or registered 501 c 3 non-profit with an operating budget of $25,000 or less.
Grant awards of $100 to $1,000 will be available during twice-yearly grant rounds. This grant program provides funding for program supplies, transportation, background checks, printing, refreshments, awards and incentives, t-shirts, education materials, recreational equipment including uniforms, cultural enrichment costs and facility rental.
To be eligible for funding, all prospective applicants to the Youth Development Fund are required to send a representative to one of the two Grant Application Training Workshops. Learn about the purpose of the grant program, eligibility requirements, receive training on the Virtues curriculum, vet project ideas and learn about other resources in the Baltimore area.
