The conference, sponsored by GBCAN - the Greater Baltimore Children and Nature Collaborative, hopes to convene adult and youth leaders across the sectors of education, health, business, faith and the arts for a discussion and workshops about connecting youth to nature in local parks, schoolyards, community greenspaces and beyond.

Outcomes of the conference will include specific actions to increase outreach to teachers, families, childcare and health providers about where and how to have meaningful and engaging nature experiences.


Conference Schedule
8:30 – 9 am Breakfast
9 – 10 am Introduction, orientation and keynote speaker
10 – 11 am breakout session one (15 minutes travel time and 45 for the workshop)
11– 12pm break out session two  (15 minutes travel time and 45 for the workshop)
12 – 1 pm Lunch –Vollmer Center
1 – 1:45pm – Expand Your Environmental Education Capacity with Akima Price                                                        – 1 - 4pm Youth Stewardship Project (outside)
1:50 – 3:00 pm Action Strategy Session
3:00 – 5:00pm – networking and open discussion with light refreshments served
