Parks & People is always looking for committed, caring volunteers to work with young people in our environmental education, sports programs and summer camps.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Assistant Coach - Middle School Sports
Parks & People Foundation seeks volunteers for assistant coaching positions in a variety of middle school sports teams. Teach kids the importance of sportsmanship and help them build good character through your service as a positive role model. This position is a great opportunity for enthusiastic people with a love for recreation. Knowledge of specific sports is not required! Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and willing to commit to volunteering at least once per week for a six-week season.
Parks & People Foundation seeks volunteers with a love for the environment to teach the importance of environmental stewardship to middle school sports teams. Environmental Educators will have the opportunity to work with many sports teams and instill a love of the environment in young athletes. This is a great opportunity for people who feel a sense of responsibility to protect the environment and want to share this with young people. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and have experience in environmental science, education, or a related field.
Summer Volunteer Opportunities with SuperKids Camp:
Be a part of improving environmental literacy in Baltimore through Parks & People Foundation’s SuperKids Camp! During this exciting 6-week camp rising second, third, and fourth graders work to improve their reading skills while doing a variety of fun activities throughout the city of Baltimore! Counselors-in-training are needed as a vital team member of SuperKids Camp to provide classroom support and serve as field trip chaperones. This is a great opportunity for volunteers 14 years of age or older and have completed at least their first year of high school to earn service learning hours over the summer! Volunteers must commit to service for at least two consecutive weeks.
- Administrative Volunteer
Administrative Assistants are needed as a vital team member of SuperKids Camp to provide support for registration, attendance monitoring, and day-to-day functions of camp. This is a great opportunity for people with good organizational skills and attention to detail and for high school students looking to earn service learning hours over the summer. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and have completed at least their first two years of high school. Volunteers must commit to service two consecutive weeks.
- Environmental Educator
Spend the summer in the park learning and exploring with our campers! Environmental Educators are needed to assist with the delivery of interactive, place-based environmental education lessons. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in the environment and love spending time outdoors. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and have completed at least their first two years of high school. Volunteers must commit to service two consecutive weeks.
