Will your child be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade student in a Baltimore City Public School next year? Do you want your child to have a fun, enriching and educational summer experience? If you answered yes to these questions, then SuperKids Camp is for you.
SuperKids Camp is open to any Baltimore City Pubilc School student entering 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade in Fall of 2014. Enrollment is limited and registration is first come, first served.
In 1997, the Parks & People Foundation started SuperKids Camp to provide a fun and engaging summer program for children in Baltimore City. The idea was to combine traditional summer camp activities with enriching learning experiences that would help prepare students to return to school in the fall.
Since our first summer, over 20,000 children have attended SuperKids Camp, a nationally recognized model for summer learning. SuperKids Camp is a summer cultural enrichment program designed to help elementary grade students (rising 2nd , 3rd and 4th graders) in Baltimore City Public Schools maintain and/or improve their academic skills. Along with intensive reading instruction and math training, campers are afforded the opportunity to enjoy a variety of stimulating, character building, activities that fully integrate literacy strategies. Activities include sailing, performing arts, science, music, drama, swimming and other enriching activities.
In addition to the daily camp program, all SuperKids campers receive free tansportation and meals! We thank our many partners and funders for allowing us to offer this extraordinary program (a $1,400 per child value) at such a reasonable cost. For more information on the program, call Camp Director, Alicia Copeland at (410) 448-5663 ext. 133.
