Join us as we welcome our community to the beautiful Parks & People campus for an immersive day of learning, sharing, and community growth. This event is designed to empower Baltimore residents with the tools and knowledge to transform their own outdoor spaces into thriving urban oases.
Event Highlights:
Connect with neighbors and our Branches students to exchange seeds, stories, and gardening tips. Whether you are a seasoned grower or a beginner, there’s something for everyone to take home.
Open access to the Parks & People garden for community members, providing a dedicated space for them to plant and grow their seeds alongside their neighbors.
Learning Sessions
2:30 pm - Start Your Backyard Garden (Part 2): A deeper dive into garden planning, following up on our popular introductory session.
3 pm - Meet Maryland Zoo Naturalist Peter Thomas for a special nature walk on local wildlife and biodiversity in our city.
3:30 pm - Composting & Mulching: Learn the "black gold" secrets of building healthy soil right in your own backyard.
Community Resources: Visit with our local partners to gather tools, information, and resources to support your environmental journey.
