   Parks & People is a nonprofit organization in Baltimore City, improving the city through green spaces and education.

   Parks & People supports Baltimore communities by revitalizing green spaces, empowering youth, and promoting environmental equity. Since 1984, the organization has transformed neglected areas into vibrant parks, ensuring access to nature for neighborhoods in East and West Baltimore. Through programs like SuperKids Camp and Branches, we engage over 1,000 students annually in education, workforce development, and environmental stewardship. Parks & People also collaborates with local partners to create parks within a 10-minute walk of residents, fostering wellness, unity, and pride across the city.

3. What neighborhoods does Parks & People serve?

   At Parks & People, we believe nature belongs in every neighborhood. Our work focuses on areas which have limited access to greenspace, particularly in East & West Baltimore.

1. What youth programs does Parks & People offer?

   Parks & People currently offers two youth programs. We provide SuperKids Camp, a free summer camp for Baltimore City rising 1st-5th graders. We also offer Branches, a paid internship and workforce development after-school program for Baltimore City high schoolers.

   The Branches program is an after-school paid internship and workforce development program for Baltimore City high-schoolers, with a focus on exploring green careers.

   Parks & People has made a lasting impact in Baltimore by revitalizing parks, engaging thousands of youth in environmental education, and fostering community through green space development. Through decades of work, we’ve transformed neglected 40 acres of land into vibrant public spaces, supported local leaders, and empowered the next generation to care for their environment and neighborhoods, impacting 108,816 residents.

   Parks & People is located at 2100 Liberty Heights Avenue, on 9 acres of greenspace situated between the Maryland Zoo and the Mondawmin transit station.
