Re-envisioning Hamilton Elementary/Middle Schoolyard as a Community Asset

Beginning in 2019, Parks & People was brought in as a partner to begin visioning around the Hamilton Elementary/Middle School site. This jewel of a school yard is an asset for students and the adjacent community, but it needs improvements to better utilize the space.

Phase 1 of site improvements is currently completed with the installation of a brand-new playground thanks to a partnership with KABOOM! and United Healthcare. Simultaneously, Parks & People has worked directly with school staff, students, community leaders, and elected officials to develop a master plan that reflect feedback received through virtual engagement and a survey.

Phase II of site improvements will include field and drainage reparations along with campus improvements to include more play equipment, pedestrian trail, new play court pavement and game graphics, new tether ball and play equipment installations.
