Concept for Hamilton EMS

Phase I of improvements for Hamilton Elementary/Middle School Yard have begun!

Parks & People has worked on planned improvements for Hamilton EMS and the adjacent communities since 2020. This began with deep hybrid community engagement throughout the height of the pandemic, leading to the design of a master plan to help guide the phasing of work. We’re really excited to see Phase I upgrades begin with newly installed basketball hoops and tetherball, chess tables, outdoor seating, a community message board, outdoor classroom whiteboard, additional trash cans, and dog waste stations this month.
Not only will children have an extended space to learn and play, but this renovation will create a more inviting space that serves the adjacent communities as well.
As always, this restoration is only possible through dedicated partnerships including the community & staff of Hamilton Elementary/Middle, Senator Cory McCray , Floura Teeter Landscape Architects, Inc., Hamilton Main St., Meyerhoff Charitable Funds, Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development, and Baltimore City Public Schools.

Stay tuned for more continued improvements to Hamilton’s school yard with Phase II this spring!
