Branches Interns set sail on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor with the Living Classrooms Foundation

On Tuesday, April 21, our Branches interns set sail with Living Classrooms for an unforgettable learning voyage! From the Inner Harbor to the Patapsco River, they explored how Baltimore’s waterways connect to the greater Chesapeake Bay watershed—learning about local history, ecology, and our role as environmental stewards. It was a hands-on reminder that protecting our water means protecting our community. Interns were able to navigate the boat in the inner harbor, take an in-depth look at oysters, and learn about biodegradation and the organisms that live in our bay.

The Living Classrooms Foundation's mission is to strengthen communities and inspire children, youth, and adults to achieve their potential through hands-on education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community safety programs that use urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."
