Contest winners stand with awards on parks and people's campus

On Earth Day, April 22, 2026, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Education and the Maryland Department of Environment, announced the winners of the third annual Earth Day Art Competition on Parks & People’s campus.

  1. “Take the Bus to Keep Maryland Beautiful” by Flora Freed, age 6, of Cockeysville

  2. · “A Ride Through Maryland” by Ouim Youn, age 8, of Frederick

  3. · “Through the Eyes of Maryland” by Alex Reitter, age 10, of Reisterstown

  4. · “Public Transportation Heals the Earth” by Melvin Walton, age 11, of Capitol Heights

  5. · “Cherry Blossom Ride” by Isra Makine, age 13, of Baltimore City

  6. · “Choose the Bus” by Anna Santana age 17, of Silver Spring

The work from these talented young artists will promote a more environmentally friendly and healthier future for everyone
