Gwynns Falls Cleanup for Bottle Bill
Join us with Blue Water Baltimore for a park and waterway cleanup in Leakin Park along the Gwynns Falls trail!
Participants will do their part for a cleaner Baltimore and Chesapeake Bay by pulling trash and litter directly out of the the Gwynns Falls waterway and surrounding park. Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park - one contiguous parkland with two names--comprises the second largest woodland park in the United States! Consisting of over 1000 acres, this is by far Baltimore's most extensive park, stretching from the western city line along the valley of the Gwynns Falls and its tributaries all the way to Wilkens Avenue.
Action Plan: We are striving to have a big impact on this park so we will be offering two activities during this event. First, we will have a walk and talk that will discuss water testing and all the ways to maintain a healthy park and waterway (while picking up trash). Second, it wouldn't be a clean up without the trash. There will be gloves and trash-grabbers available for use, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer, and we will clean up as we learn about the park and stewardship.
Parking is limited in this area so please carpool with friends if possible!
Afterward, we will host a small gathering to celebrate and connect with each other! Chat with our nonprofits to learn more about what we can do to keep our waterways and green spaces clean.
Water, snacks, and light refreshments included.

10:30a- Coffee/Snack & Check-in

The Community Showcase is a deep dive into the foundational histories of Carroll and Druid Hill Parks, centered on the most important voices, the descendants of the enslaved people whose stories shape these landscapes.

The Equitable Network Bike Ride and Community Design Day
The Equitable Network is a multimodal trail between Druid Hill Park and Carroll Park, connecting West Baltimore residents to two of the city’s largest and oldest parks, as well as to Baltimore’s Green Trail Network. This initiative ensures that Baltimore’s existing and proposed trail networks are accessible to all residents by proposing new routes and access points through historically disadvantaged, segregated neighborhoods.
